One Step To Green
September 29, 2008
Fruitland, Idaho -- Conserving water and energy is a growing concern for both environmental and economical reasons at Dickinson Frozen Foods. Dickinson Frozen Foods (DFF) announced investments in process improvements that will reduce water and energy usage for the Fruitland facility, benefiting the environment.
The investments support green processes which reduce energy loss in heat transfer, eliminates high energy consuming devices, and decreases water consumption. The most notable of these improvements is the conservation of over 6.5M gallons of water per year. These investments will have an immediate, positive impact on our ecology and are another step in being an eco-friendly company.
Dickinson Frozen Foods, with production plants in Sugar City and Fruitland, Idaho, employs nearly 500 team members within the state. DFF is the nation’s leading manufacturer and marketer of IQF processed onions. The company also produces and markets IQF roasted vegetables and seasoned fire-roasted potatoes. The company distributes its products through industrial, food service, and export market channels where it has established a reputation for exceptionally high quality products and exemplary customer service.
